Why This Venue Exists

The same meaningful gathering, for a clear price, without the costs tied to a casket.

  • Facility since 1999
  • Christian based and led
  • Every family welcome

Traditional funeral homes are good at what they do, and their pricing excludes too many families. Sacred Farewells was created to fill that gap, not to tear anything down. The facility at 5725 South University Drive has served families since 1999, and it already had everything a celebration of life needs: a 300-seat room, sound and projection, tables and chairs, and a kitchen for the meal after. Without the costs tied to embalming and a casket, the same meaningful gathering can happen here for a clear price.

What they believe shapes how every family is treated: you do not need to know what to do when you lose someone. Let someone else lead you. Treating people with empathy, kindness and patience is the foundation, especially when emotions run high between family members.

What the Team Does and Does Not Do

The room, the equipment and the people who support it. Never the care of the deceased.

  • Does: facility, equipment, staff
  • Does: coordinator or MC
  • Does not: embalming, cremation, burial

The team provides the facility, the equipment and the staff who support it, and with the larger packages a coordinator or an MC. The team does not handle embalming, cremation, burial or the transport of remains; Sacred Farewells is a venue and not a funeral home. Families who need a cremation provider can ask, and the team will point them to one.

How a Family Is Walked Through It

Step by step: the date, the package, the order of service, the music and photos, the meal.

  • One call starts it
  • A plan in five parts
  • Staff carry the day
A winding path with five stops: one call, the date, the package, the order with music and photos, the meal
The plan the team puts in place with every family.

Families repeatedly arrive not knowing what to do next. The team guides them step by step and puts a plan in place: the date, the package, the order of the service, the music and photos, the meal. One family set up photographs, played a video montage and opened the floor for stories; a minister led 30 minutes of songs, poetry and prayer, and everyone stayed for hours afterward. That is what the room is for.
