A Memorial Service, No Funeral Home

The gathering happens here. The care of the deceased happens elsewhere, with a licensed provider.

  • No body present
  • Urn or portrait welcome
  • Service, stories, meal after

Sacred Farewells is a gathering venue and not a funeral home. A memorial service here is held without the body present. Families who wish to may bring cremated remains in an urn, or a framed photograph, and the staff set a place of honor for either at the front of the sanctuary.

No embalming, cremation, burial or transport of remains happens here, and none is arranged here. Licensed funeral providers handle that separate work. This room holds the gathering itself: the service, the stories and the meal after.

Who Leads the Service

  • Any officiant welcome
  • MC with Legacy Tribute
  • No required order

Every officiant is welcome. Families bring their own pastor, chaplain or a steady friend to lead the service. The on-site staff support the building and the equipment; they do not run the ceremony. Families who would rather have a professional guide the room choose Legacy Tribute, which includes an experienced MC.

A simple outline covers most services: a welcome, music, readings, shared memories and a closing. Families keep what fits and change what does not. Nothing about the order is required.

Timing a Memorial Service

Hold it whenever the family is ready, within days or weeks later.

  • 25% deposit holds the date
  • Balance about 7 days before
  • Files due 10 days before
Timeline of four dates: agreement and 25% deposit, files due ten days before, balance due seven days before, the day
The dates that matter, counted back from the service.

Because no body is present, a memorial service can happen whenever the family is ready: within days, or weeks later when relatives can travel. A 25% deposit secures the date and the balance is due about seven days before. Slideshow files, music and program details are due ten days before the service so the staff can test every file on the system before the first guest walks in.

The Meal After

Everyone moves to the reception space. The staff set out the tables and clear up afterward.

  • Bring your own dishes
  • Drop-off catering from $15
  • Cleanup by staff

When the service ends, everyone moves to the reception space to eat and talk. Families bring the dishes their loved one was known for, or arrange drop-off catering, priced separately. The staff set out the serving tables, keep the room comfortable and handle every bit of cleanup.

How the Day Runs

  1. A desk calendar, notepad and reading glasses on the white console in the Sacred Farewells foyer

    The First Call

You call or send the form, and someone from the team calls during office hours to check the date and set up a free 30-minute tour. The notepad and calendar on the foyer console are where most gatherings begin.

  2. A stack of family photographs face down beside a speaker and a program on a cloth-covered table in the sanctuary

    Photos, Music and the Program

You gather the photographs, songs and any video, and send the files ten days ahead. The team shares a plain outline of the service and, with Enhanced or Legacy, designs and prints up to 100 programs.

  3. Microphones and instruments set on the Sacred Farewells stage with the rows of chairs ready

    The Room Is Set

Before guests arrive the staff set the chairs, test the slideshow on the screen and check the microphones on the stage. With Enhanced and Legacy an AV technician stays through the service.

  4. The serving room beside the Sacred Farewells reception space, counters ready for the meal after

    The Gathering After

Family and friends move to the reception space for the meal. Coffee and water are set out, food is served from the kitchen side, and the staff clear everything afterward.

Questions

Something else on your mind? Call (954) 471-3965.

How much does a memorial service venue cost at Sacred Farewells?

Basic Celebration is $1,500 for three hours, Enhanced Celebration $2,200, and Legacy Tribute $2,800 for four hours. Add-ons such as catering, extra hours and a memorial video are priced separately and shape the final total.

Can a memorial service be held weeks or months after the death?

Yes. No body is present, so the service happens when the family is ready. Some families gather within days and others wait for a meaningful date or for relatives to travel.

Can the slideshow be checked before guests arrive?

Yes. Send the photos and music ten days ahead, and the staff run the full slideshow on the screen before the first guest walks in.

May an urn or portrait be present during the service?

Of course. Many families place an urn, a portrait or a few keepsakes on the memorial table at the front. The staff arrange the table with care and return everything afterward.

Does the venue provide an officiant or MC?

Families usually bring their own pastor, chaplain or friend. Legacy Tribute includes a professional MC. With Basic and Enhanced, the staff support the building and the equipment, not the ceremony itself.

Is there parking, and is the building accessible?

Plenty of parking sits behind the building, reached through the breezeway. The facility is ground level with no steps and is fully wheelchair friendly.
